Part Time Finance Manager

Role: Part Time Finance Manager

Location: Central Birmingham and home working

Salary: £40 - 45,000 pro rota

Contract: Temporary 3 - 4 months

We are working on behalf of an established and award winning organisation, who are seeking a part time Finance Manager to join their Finance department on a temporary basis until the end of November/early December 2024.

As a Finance Manager you will be responsible for producing management accounts, reporting to senior leaders/trustees and managing workload across a small team of 2.

The organisation operates a flexible working environment with the expectation to be office based at their modern offices in central Birmingham approximately 2 days a week. Their offices have nearby parking, or a short walk from Birmingham Moor Street train station.

The successful candidate will work part time 30 hours per week ideally would be 4 full days.

Please note all positions within this organisation require a DBS which will be taken out by the employer.

Role and responsibilities:

  • As the part time Finance Manager you will be responsible for the day to day running of the finance and administrative team, ensuring that all its functions are carried out in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Responsibility for overseeing all financial aspects of the organisation, including budgeting, reporting, compliance, and grants management.
  • Lead on the production of management accounts to an agreed timetable including raising journals, regular reconciliations, supporting analysis and variance analysis
  • Support with the annual budget process
  • Ensure that financial systems, policies, procedures and internal controls and audits are robust, compliant and support business needs
  • Preparation of annual statutory accounts
  • Ensure the Finance team are accurately inputting and processing supplier invoices and statements
  • Maintain accurate recording keeping in the accounting system Quickbooks
  • Assist with the annual audit process and accounts submission to various bodies
  • Adhoc finance related tasks as required by the business

Skills and experience required:

  • Proven experience in similar Assistant Management Accountant, Management Accounts or Finance Manager role is essential
  • Experience using Quickbooks advantageous
  • Experience working in not-for-profit advantageous
  • Ability to work as part of a small team essential
  • High levels of attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills

This is a temporary contract which will be paid on a hourly rate basis. The temporary contract will be from September 2024 until at least the end of November 2024/beginning of December 2024.
