Acoustic Engineer

My client is a UK-based acoustic consultancy that specialises in architectural, environmental, and industrial acoustics. The chosen candidate will be able to work on projects that have a national effect. Requirements:

  • Accuracy, focus, and a working understanding of British Standards like BS16283, BS5228, BS8233, and BS4142 are essential.
  • Candidates will have a competitive edge if they possess both the IOA diploma and a BSc in acoustics or a similar subject of study.
  • It is essential to have strong collaboration skills with interdisciplinary teams made up of developers, architects, engineers, and construction managers.
  • Proficiency with 3D noise modelling software like ODEON, INSUL, Soundplan, or comparable tools, as well as doing noise assessments and sound insulation testing.
  • To successfully communicate results, suggestions, and technical information to customers and stakeholders, one must possess strong verbal and written communication skills.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Create sensible management plans based on the needs of the project.
  • Develop efficient mitigating strategies by utilising sophisticated 3D noise modelling methodologies.
  • Make comprehensive noise evaluations using specialised tools and software.
  • Offer recommendations and professional guidance to stakeholders.
  • Work together with a group of gifted experts to assess and study noise levels in diverse settings.
