Position: Full-Time Teaching Assistant (Year 1)

Location: South Rotherham

Contract: November 2024 - July 2025

This small, friendly primary school in South Rotherham is committed to providing a nurturing and inclusive environment for all our students.

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Full-Time Teaching Assistant to join our Year 1 class on a fixed-term contract from November 2024 to July 2025. You will play a key role in supporting the classroom, particularly in phonics interventions, and providing one-to-one support for two pupils with additional needs and a diagnosis of ASD.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the classroom teacher in daily activities and lesson delivery.
  • Implementing phonics interventions, particularly using the Read Write Inc. program.
  • Providing one-to-one support for two pupils with ASD, ensuring their specific needs are met.
  • Assisting with classroom management and creating an inclusive learning environment.
  • Helping to assess and track the progress of pupils, providing feedback to the teacher.

Requirements:

  • Teaching Assistant qualification at Level 2 or above.
  • Experience supporting phonics, ideally with the Read Write Inc. program.
  • Experience working with children with additional needs, particularly ASD.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A compassionate and patient approach, with a commitment to supporting all students' learning and development.
