Personal Injury Paralegal

Posted by Gleeson Recruitment Group.

I am looking for an experienced Personal Injury Paralegal to join an established and friendly team, based in Birmingham City Centre.

The firms PI and Clinical Negligence team has built an extensive reputation across Birmingham, dealing with claims ranging from claims from £1,000 to £9 million. The range of personal injury services provided by the firm includes work-related claims, road traffic accident claims, criminal injury compensation claims, slip/trip claims, uninsured/ untraced driver claims and clinical/medical negligence claims.

The team is experiencing a boom in workload, and we are looking for someone to both take on their own caseload of small claims, as well as provide assistance to senior team members with more complex cases. This role represents an excellent opportunity for someone committed to pursuing a caeer in PI and who is interested in developing their knowledge of this area of law.

As well as focusing on bringing out the best out in our staff and supporting their career development, we pride ourselves on being a firm that genuinely cares for the well being of our staff. We focus on maintaining an open and honest workplace where all staff can be their authentic self and enjoy their time at work. In addition, our staff enjoy an excellent work-life balance, with the majority of our people now having hybrid working in place.

Ideally, you will have;

  • 2-3 years' experience as a Paralegal or similar.
  • At least 1 year's experience in Personal Injury and/or Clinical Negligence, ideally having run your own caseload of PI matters.
  • Experience of running claims through the OIC portal.
  • Knowledge of the litigation process.
  • Excellent phone manner, with a proven ability to build rapport and trust with clients.
  • Experience of the following tasks would be of definite advantage, although not essential:

o Producing schedule of loss statements
o Taking witness statements
o Assessing and redacting bank statements

  • Eagerness to take responsibility
  • Friendly and approachable, able to build relationships at all levels across the firm.
  • Displays a collaborative approach to work - focused on helping the team achieve its goals and willing to pitch in when needed.
  • Focused on ongoing learning & development.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to work to deadlines and targets.
  • Strong IT skills.
