Location: Gwynedd

Salary: £34k - £42k (DOE)+ Excellent Benefits

Job Type: Full-Time / Part-Time, Monday - Friday

The Client:

Our client is a reputable charity, offering complimentary legal advice to communities, addressing everyday life challenges.

The Role:

As a Litigation Solicitor, you will be leading strategic legal work to address systemic inequality and managing a legal team.

They will consider both mid-level and senior level candidates.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialist advice on housing and family matters.
  • Represent clients in county and family courts.
  • Liaise with landlords, solicitors, and other agencies.
  • Ensure compliance with organisational and Legal Aid Agency requirements.
  • Collaborate with other advice providers to influence policy and legislation.
  • Engage with community groups and share learning.
  • Prepare reports for the Trustee Board, funders, and stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with Solicitors Regulation Authority requirements.
  • Attend training and stay updated with relevant publications.
  • Work with the Operations Director to achieve organisational stability and growth.
  • Promote equality and diversity within the organisation.

Requirements:

Essential:

  • Previously worked as a Solicitor in a similar role.
  • Possess 1 - 3 years of PQE.
  • Experience in civil and / or family litigation.
  • Knowledge of SRA Professional Conduct Rules, SQM standards, and Solicitor's Accounts Rules.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Commitment to sharing learning, skills, and knowledge.
  • Understanding of and commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Strong IT skills.

Desirable:

  • Experience with marginalised communities or agencies in the voluntary or statutory sector.
  • Practice in housing and homelessness law or supporting survivors of violence and abuse.
  • Background with legal aid work and advocacy.
  • Familiarity with billing procedures and case management systems.
  • Able to write and speak Welsh.
  • Reside in the nearby areas of the job location.
