Here at Long-term Teachers we are working on behalf of an amazing special educational needs school based in Tiverton who are seeking to appoint a talented, proactive and resilient primary school teacher.

About the school:

The school has an excellent reputation for providing a student-centred approach to supporting individuals with social, emotional and mental health needs and autism. You will be part of a rapidly growing provision with a strong, multi-disciplinary team of like minded professionals who strive to make a difference. You will be based at a new purpose-built nurture facility that provides wrap-around care, education and specialist support for students with a variety of needs including autism and ADHD.

About the role:

  • Planning and delivery of core subjects at KS1 and KS2, life skills and a specialist curriculum (including communication, interaction and social skills
  • Adapt teaching to respond to the needs of individuals
  • Be resilient, proactive and confident
  • Work collaboratively with other members of staff to create the best learning environment
  • Manage behaviour effectively and maintain an inclusive learning environment
  • Communicate effectively with all staff, students, parents and wider members of the community.

Previous experience in a SEN setting or working within a mainstream school is preferred, but not essential. You will receive training and partake in continued professional development opportunities. This is a full time role, starting in September.
