We are seeking an outstanding HR advisor to join our Buckinghamshire based academy trust. This pivotal role involves supporting management and staff, ensuring effective provision for learners. As a HR advisor you will handle the full employee life cycle, participate in all HR functions, and collaborate closely with the HR and Finance teams within the trust. A driving license is required for site visits to locations in Hampshire and Wokingham. The Trust prioritizes learner welfare and expects all staff to share this commitment.

Role Summary:

  • Provide high-quality professional advice and support to managers and staff on all HR-related matters.
  • Undertake specialised and general HR tasks as required and appropriate to the role.
  • Deputise for the HR Manager as needed.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Stay informed about changes in employment law and best practices within schools HR.
  • Maintain and update document templates, including employment contracts, variation letters, and other relevant correspondence. Ensure accessibility to the team and alignment with contractual and statutory requirements.
  • Conduct Regular Single Central Record Audits for the schools.
  • Collaborate closely with the Payroll Department to maintain accurate workforce information and promptly address any identified issues. Issue precise payroll instructions to meet deadlines.
  • Provide guidance and advice to management and employees throughout the employee life cycle, including absence management, investigations, discipline, grievance, and capability. Ensure consistent application of Trust policies and procedures, complying with employment law and best practices.
  • Oversee and monitor the Absence Management Programme across the Trust.
  • Manage and monitor the Probation Period Process with Recruiting Managers, highlighting any concerns to the HR Manager.
  • Provide support to the HR Manager in managing poor performance and offering solutions.
  • Assist the HR Manager in preparing management information reports related to HR, including absence data, staff lists, and payroll costs. Ensure timely and accurate responses to information requests.
  • Contribute to the development of HR policies, as requested.
  • Maintain and update HR database systems.
  • Identify personal and professional staff development needs to align with the Trust's Strategic and Operational Plan.
