If you have previously worked in any of these roles before, then this position could be ideal for you - Rural Chartered Surveyor, Planning & Development Surveyor, Chartered Town Planner, Surveying, Construction or Estate Management with key development and planning focus and expertise.

Ideally, you will be MRICS with five years PQE experience, but more junior will be considered.

No two days are ever the same as the portfolio is highly varied. You will be expected to work autonomously and within a Team, as well as offering professional help to more junior members, stepping up to manage a small dedicated team, and work with stakeholders and a diverse client base.

They are looking for a bright, dynamic, strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem solving skills.

About you:

  • Have a background in rural practice with a development focus or experience in GP/P&D with a keen interest in rural matters.
  • A degree in Town Planning, Development, Estate Management or related field
  • Chartered Membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) and/or Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).
  • Demonstrable experience in planning, development and/or construction projects.
  • An energetic and bright individual who can work collaboratively as well as autonomously.
  • Have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to build and sustain effective relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and organisation skills.
  • Enthusiastic about the built, historic and natural environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • You will be responsible for preparing planning application and appeal submissions, site evaluations and feasibility studies, strategic planning advice, and providing other property and construction advice and expertise.
  • Working collaboratively with the team on interesting and challenging projects; redevelopment, housing plots, traditional farm building complexes, modern agricultural schemes, commercial buildings, listed and the historic environment, diversification, leisure and much more.
  • Provide technical advice to clients and stakeholders, and support project delivery.
  • Representation of clients at public meetings.
  • Build strong relationships with clients including developers, landowners, architects, local authorities and other stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the growth and development of Price Whitehead through the delivery of excellent services
  • Maintain expertise in relevant planning legislation, guidance, and policy through continuous professional development and knowledge sharing.
  • Support junior team members in their training and career ambitions.
  • Become the go-to professional for rural and urban development and planning advice in the region.
