Wire Assembly Technician

We have an opportunity for a Wire Assembly Technician to join our clients vibrant Team at this leading custom technology Company based in Wokingham. The position of Wire Assembly Technician is a full-time permanent role with hours of 8.45am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.

About the role As Wire Assembly Technician will report into the Production Manager. You will be responsible for all aspects of mechanical assembly, wiring, cable harness, and testing. You must be IPC / WHMA-A-620 qualified, and IPC JSTD 001 would be desirable or experience in soldering. Responsibilities include:

  • Managing the ongoing production process including assembly, inventory control, documentation, equipment maintenance, calibration, shipping, and quality control / inspection
  • Recommending and implementing initiatives to create new products, efficient processes and production methods
  • Planning workflow for the department according to established manufacturing sequences and lead times
  • Advising on and modifying drawings and design of products
  • Monitoring consumables and tooling to ensure adequate stock levels
  • Ensuring quality standards are always maintained in accordance with the Company QMS procedures
  • Resolving problems quickly and effectively as and when required
  • Maintaining a good standard of housekeeping (5S)
  • Ensuring that all activities within the department are carried out in accordance with the Company Health and Safety policy
  • Ensuring timely and thorough completion of all documentation including production/test reports, orders, and despatch paperwork, etc

About the rewards As a Wire Assembly Technician, you will receive a salary of £35,000 to £38,000 per annum, depending on experience plus:

  • Performance related bonus

About you The role of Wire Assembly Technician would suit an individual who has experience within a assembly or production process position. To be successful for the role of Wire Assembly Technician, you must have / be:

  • Able to organise and prioritise whilst juggling multiple tasks
  • Efficient in understanding and reading technical drawings/wiring schematics
  • Proven experience of working with copper cabling and small components
  • Demonstrable understanding of assembly / production processes
  • Proven experience of working with copper cabling, and small components
  • Able to read, understand & follow technical drawings / wiring schematics
  • Able to plan and prioritise workload, and re-organise as and when necessary, depending on business operational needs
  • IPC JSTD 001 Soldering Skills or equivalent
