Job Purpose:
In your role you'll be reporting to the Team Leader, but will have some responsibility for managing staff and leading assigned projects or specialist areas within Commercial, Residential/Housing, and Pollution/Waste Management services. The post holder will also perform the full scope of duties carried out by the team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take a lead role in designated projects or specialist areas, providing expert advice, developing relevant policies and procedures, and monitoring performance both within the team and across the wider service.
- For the areas outlined above, coordinate the work of allocated staff—assigning tasks, setting priorities, establishing performance standards, and ensuring delivery in line with applicable legislation and council policies.
- Prepare or contribute to reports and attend committees, working groups, or other relevant meetings as required.
- Propose and help develop policies related to the team's work.
- Provide professional advice and respond to queries or concerns from the public or elected representatives related to your area of responsibility.
- Collaborate with senior staff across other directorates, departments, partner organisations, public agencies, and voluntary groups to offer guidance on policy and procedures. This is to help prevent breaches and promote high standards of practice in the team's area of work.
Having your HHSRS is essential for the role and experience in going to court is a bonus.
Contract is for 3months+ and day rate is depending on experience.
