Universal Grinder
Shift: Day Shift: Working 4 days - Monday to Thursday
Location: Clacton on Sea, Essex
Salary: Competitive, negotiable
We are seeking a skilled Universal Grinder, with cylindrical and surface grinding experience to join this long established and respected precision engineering company to carry out production grinding and tool grinding duties.
The Universal Grinder will ensure quality of work produced meets customer and drawing requirements.
Main Responsibilities:
- Precision grinding of parts with tight tolerances.
- Follow company instructions and drawings.
- Adhere to health and safety procedures.
Key Tasks:
- Set up and operate grinding machines according to company quality standards.
- Inspect own work for accuracy.
- Update tooling sheets and record cycle times.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
Duties may evolve to support the company's culture of continuous improvement.
Skills and Attributes Required:
- Knowledge of various grinding machines and controls.
- Understanding of tool and material capabilities.
- Ability to inspect own work.
- Team player.
Preferred Qualifications or Knowledge:
- Engineering apprenticeship.
- Previous experience in a similar role.
- Background in tool making.
Hours:
39 per week
Choice of two start and finish times:
- Monday to Wednesday: 6.00am to 4.30pm or 7.30am to 6.00pm
- Thursday: 6.00am to 3.30pm OR 7.30am to 5.00pm
