Hays are looking for experienced teaching assistants for September starts in a number of schools across Formby area to fill an array of positions. This type of role is very flexible in its approach, and you can work as much or as little as you require. We support schools in Formby with day to day cover, long-term cover and permanent vacancies. This is a great opportunity for somebody who is looking to widen their current experience, someone who needs flexibility or someone who is looking for a change. We will have a role to suit you.Hays is one of the largest education agencies in the Sefton area. We have excellent working relationships with many schools. They use Hays supply service for Cover Supervisors and Teaching Assistants very heavily. We now need more candidates to fill these roles, opportunities can vary from odd days to a number of weeks depending on your preference.

Your new role
You will be supporting the students in the classroom, under the direction of the teacher. You will support them with their learning, support with classroom activities and help keep children engaged and enjoying their lessons. You might be supporting on a 1-1 basis for children with additional needs as well as just general support.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful with your application, you need full "Right to Work" in the UK as well as a minimum of 40 days of referenceable experience supporting children and young people in the last 2 years, as well as:

  • Previous experience working with children/students between the ages of 5-11
  • An NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification in supporting teaching and learning is advantageous but not essential.
  • The ability to take a person-centred approach to learning
