My client are a leading Financial Services firm who are looking for a talented Finance professional to join the team. They pride themselves on delivering high-quality services with a client-focused approach.

Job Summary:

As a Financial Accountant, you will be responsible for preparing statutory financial statements in compliance with UK GAAP, supporting audit processes, and preparing management accounts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and finalise completion accounts, determine final payments, and continuously monitor and calculate forecast contingent payments.
  • Oversee the external audit process for acquired entities, ensuring the high-quality preparation and timely submission of audited financial statements.
  • Prepare and submit financial reports to regulators for regulated entities within the group.
  • Perform month-end reconciliation and journal postings for acquired entities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Support the group consolidation process, assist with statutory accounting, and contribute to other group financial reporting requirements.
  • Provide key financial data and insights to support corporation tax reporting and compliance.
  • Assist with the group's external audit process, collaborating with auditors to provide required documentation and support.
  • Aid in integrating the finance functions of newly acquired companies into the group's existing processes and systems.
  • Identify, document, and implement opportunities for process improvements within the finance team's systems and controls.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Must be qualified (ACA/ACCA) with experience from a reputable accounting firm.
  • Proven experience in preparing statutory accounts under UK GAAP, ideally within an accounting firm.
  • Experience supporting audit processes and preparing management accounts.
  • Strong technical knowledge of IFRS and FRS 102, with a solid understanding of UK financial reporting requirements.
  • Proven experience in consolidations and accounting for acquisitions.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information clearly.
