HR Advisor - Remote

Our client, a reputable and growing NHS organisation, is looking for a Band 6 HR Advisor to join the team for a 9-12 month maternity cover.

Essential criteria

  • Must have a CIPD Level 7, or post graduate diploma
  • Ability to work autonomously, to plan, organise and prioritise own workload
  • Highly effective interpersonal skills with sound written and verbal skills to communicate effectively with staff at levels of the organisation.
  • Previous experience of providing HR advice to staff at all levels and supporting Change Management programmes ER cases
  • Experience of managing your own case load, including sickness absence management, disciplinary, grievance, etc.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Respond to written and verbal enquiries from a range of external stakeholders ensuring these are handled appropriately and forwarded as necessary to the appropriate person within the HR&OD Team as and when necessary
  • Develop and maintain close working relationships with other providers of service to the workforce e.g. Occupational Health, payroll and pensions and act as a link between managers these service providers to ensure the implementation of advice e.g. return to work, reasonable adjustments, redeployments, ill health retirements as well as other work related issues
  • Advise and support line managers on producing clear, concise and fit for purpose job descriptions including the Agenda for Change Job Evaluation Framework
  • Manage a case load as allocated by the HRBP including Sickness, Disciplinary, Capability, Grievance, and Bullying and Harassment cases including complex and high risk cases, seeking advice from the HRBP as required
  • Liaise with HR&OD Team members to identify and manage risks associated with payroll and employee relations issues
  • Responsible for the co-ordination of Joint Negotiating Council meetings; this will include the production of agenda
  • Assist with drafting and updating workforce plans with Heads of Service and liaising with colleagues in finance
  • Responsible for ensuring the co-ordination of any ER hearings and preparation of all associated documentation
  • Lead on less complex internal change projects as directed by the HR Business Partners
  • Contributing to the implementation plan of new policies and assisting to develop tool kits for managers
  • Resolve payroll related issues as they arise, including liaising with the external payroll provider and dealing with all payroll queries from staff, ensuring quick and accurate resolution
  • Provide employee relations advice, coaching and training and manage cases including supporting managers in, capability, grievance, dignity at work and sickness management cases
  • Develop and maintain HR related systems to monitor and support requirements and service delivery.
  • Responsible for running monthly management information reports from ESR and submitting these to the Head of HR
