We are looking for an Operations Manager to ensure the effective and safe operation of our educational institution's site, including grounds, buildings, and facilities. This role is integral to maintaining a high-quality and secure environment for the education of young people.

Day to Day of the Role:

  • Oversee the security of the buildings and grounds, prioritising the safeguarding of students, staff, visitors, and contractors.
  • Develop and review security procedures, including access control measures and CCTV operations.
  • Act as a key-holder, providing out-of-hours attendance for emergencies.
  • Manage facilities to maintain a high-quality and safe educational environment.
  • Communicate effectively with all stakeholders, enhancing the institution's standing in the community.
  • Understand and implement all maintenance requirements, overseeing contract management for maintenance providers.
  • Manage site maintenance budgets, ensuring value for money in purchasing supplies.
  • Oversee daily and long-term cleaning and grounds maintenance operations.
  • Manage health and safety obligations, ensuring statutory compliance, and conducting risk assessments.
  • Monitor energy consumption, initiating energy-saving initiatives and contributing to the institution's sustainability goals.
  • Coordinate facilities for events, manage lettings, and oversee the recruitment and performance management of site staff.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in operations or facilities management, preferably within an educational setting.
  • Strong understanding of health and safety regulations and energy management.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage budgets and procurement processes.
  • Competence in security systems and building maintenance.
  • Leadership skills with experience in staff management and training.
