In a nutshell...
As Production Manager, you will be responsible for the entire factory production with the view of progressing and developing into a more senior position looking after the overall manufacturing operations.
You will identify and implement improvements in working practices and utilise modern manufacturing techniques. You will play an active part in all weekly meetings and provide key information for the senior leadership teams.
The ideal candidate will have experience of production management within a factory / manufacturing environment. You will drive the development of line leaders whilst identifying improvements to production methods. Therefore, any experience implementing Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen or similar is a distinct advantage.
This role would suit an aspiring Production Manager who wants to climb the career ladder into an Operations Manager position.
What's involved for the Production Manager...
- Continued development of Line Leaders
- Improve the quality of production staff through training and or recruitment
- Manage overtime and recruitment of temp's to ensure targets are met
- Formulate and implement a formal staff training
- Monitor/control labour costs in line with the budgetary limits
- Identify and implement improvements to current production methods
- Monitor/control expenses in line with budgets
- Ensure that production targets are achieved
- Ensure that the staff are managed appropriately giving regard to motivation, staff welfare, training, guidance and encouragement.
What you'll need...
- Factory management experience is a MUST
- Production manufacturing experience is essential
- Experience in managing managers, line leaders or team leaders
- Experience in implementing systems (e.g. LEAN, (Layout, Kanban, Faxban) SIX SIGMA, KAIZAN etc) is essential.
- Strong management / people development skills
- In depth knowledge manufacturing processes
- Ability to implement continuous improvement techniques
