Building Surveyor

I am looking for a Building Surveyor to join a Local Authority in the Shropshire area. The Building Surveyor will be responsible for the delivery of planned maintenance programmes and direct management of a junior surveyor. This is a 12 month FTC with the opportunity for a permanent position.

Building Surveyor duties:

  • Carry out surveys in line with the planned maintenance programmes
  • Take responsibility for all aspects of planning and delivery of programmes.
  • Prepare cost schedules and programmes of works
  • Oversee the development of an apprentice or junior surveyor

What is required for the Building Surveyor role:

  • Experience managing a team or junior members of staff
  • Ability to prepare contract documentation
  • Experience carrying out all planned maintenance surveys
  • Experience delivering large projects to time and budget
  • HNC or equivalent
  • Experience working within a social housing setting
