Your new company
Bristol Magistrates' Court is located in Bristol City Centre. You will be working alongside Amey who manage highways and grounds; designs and manages street lighting; and conducts street cleansing activities. The company offers property and facilities management services for airports, local authorities, schools and offices.
Your new role
To plan and manage the day-to-day aspects of the street cleaning operation to ensure compliance with the requirements of the contract and in accordance with schedules and work instructions:
- Plan and manage the teams and schedules for the delivery of the street cleaning works, including scheduled and reactive cleaning using both manual and mechanical methods, litter bin emptying, flytip removal, flyposting and graffiti removal and litter bin installation.
- Ensure that all street cleaning activities are undertaken in line with safe operating procedures, to a high technical standard and in line with Amey's values
- Manage staff in line with Amey processes and procedures
- Ensure that all appropriate safety checks for vehicles, plant and equipment are completed, recorded and actioned
- Keep all necessary paper and electronic records relating to management of staff and the service
- Communicate and liaise with other employees of Amey, subcontractors, community assemblies, elected members, emergency services and the public in a professional and courteous manner
- Attend project and work briefings as required
- Taking responsibility for the safety of yourself and others within your teams to ensure compliance with relevant health and safety legislation and safe operation to protect team members and members of the public
- The job holder may be required to undertake other tasks from time to time.
Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday, 6.30am - 2.30pm (37.5 hours per week)
Rate: £12.60 per hour
End date: 15th October 2024 (potential for extension)
What you'll need to succeed
Qualifications
- Relevant NVQ (or equivalent) and/or competent person designation desirable
- Driving licence - No parking on site.

Experience
- Experience of managing a street cleaning or similar service
- Experience of managing a workforce
