This role has a starting salary of £26,777 per annum based on a full time 36 hour working week. We will consider part time applicants also.

We are excited to be hiring a new Team Administrator to join and support our fantastic Speech and Language Therapy Team. We are passionate about improving the speech, language and communication skills of children in Surrey to ensure that no one is left behind.

The team is divided into four quadrant teams who are located at either:

  • Woking (North West and South West teams)
  • Dakota, Weybridge (North East team)
  • Woodhatch, Reigate (South East team)

The successful candidate can be based at any of the three locations and the role is open to hybrid working which means that although you aren't required in the office 5 days a week, there will be some office based days.

You will receive support from a Senior Team Administrator already established within the Speech and Language Therapy Team.

About the team

The Speech and Language Therapy Team sits within the Children, Families and Lifelong Learning directorate and works closely with other teams supporting children and young people in schools and colleges in Surrey.

We are a large team of over 150 Therapists and Therapy Assistants. Our team purpose is to support the wider workforce to enable?schools, families and parents help?children?reach their communication?potential. We achieve this through assessment and?intervention, and by equipping families and?professionals with the skills and resources to?work together to help and support children and young people?with SLCN.

About the role

In your role you will be an integral part of the team undertaking a variety of tasks essential to the smooth running of the team. You will work with the Senior Team administrator to provide high quality and efficient support to the therapy team to allow the service to improve outcomes for children accessing the service.

You will play a key role in communicating with schools and families and with Team Administrators across other teams in the council to support schools and families. You will be a member of the wider business support community and will develop and grow business support networks. In addition you will receive support and guidance form the Speech and Language Therapy Senior Team Administrator.

Shortlisting criteria

To be considered for shortlisting for this position, your application will clearly evidence the following:

  • Experience in supporting colleagues within a local authority or similar, relevant field
  • Good organisational and administrative skills including effective diary management, proficiency with case management systems and inbox prioritisation
  • Experience of maintaining a database through accurate and timely input
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft applications, particularly Excel
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including diplomacy and discretion when working with confidential data
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • The willingness and ability to travel to all base locations to meet the demands of the role
