Salary: £45,441 - £48,474 per annum +£2000 annual retention
Hours per Week: 37

As an Advanced Practitioner, you will be instrumental in delivering a first-class service which will provide the best outcomes for the children and young people of Gloucestershire.

You will be a resilient, driven individual who can play your part in making our vision for children's services a reality. Taking on a protected caseload, you will work to create the best outcomes for children and young people with complex and challenging needs, risks, and circumstances.

Main Responsibilities

  • Safeguarding: Ensure the safety and well-being of children and young people by assessing and managing risk and taking decisive actions to protect them from harm.
  • Crisis Intervention: Respond promptly and effectively to safeguarding concerns, providing immediate support and intervention to children and families in crisis.
  • Multi-Agency Collaboration: Work closely with other agencies, such as health, education, and law enforcement, to coordinate comprehensive safeguarding plans.
  • Quality Assurance: Lead and support quality control and improvement activities within the team, ensuring high standards of safeguarding practice.
  • Case Management: Manage a protected caseload of children and young people with high-risk factors, ensuring that all interventions are timely, effective, and child-centred.
  • Supervision and Mentorship: Provide supervision and management oversight for the practice and development of Trainee Social Workers on placement and Newly Qualified Social Workers (NQSW) within the team.
  • Policy Implementation: Ensure adherence to statutory requirements and local safeguarding policies and procedures, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of best practices in child protection.

To be successfully appointed to this post:

  • Social Work England registration
  • Experience at Senior Social Worker level
  • A recognised qualification in Social Work and registration with SWE/HCPC
  • A full driving licence and willingness to drive
  • Enhanced DBS clearance
