Role: Safeguarding Advisor
Type: Temporary - Full Time
Location: West Yorkshire
Rate: £15 - £17 per hour
Eden Brown are seeking an experienced Safeguarding Advisor for a Further Education College in West Yorkshire.
This is a full time temporary role to start asap for 3 months initially.
Safeguarding Advisors will ensure that all learners and staff are appropriately safeguarded.
You will promote a joined-up approach to safeguarding issues across campuses, ensuring that risks are identified and managed and acting as a central point of contact with statutory agencies and voluntary agencies to ensure that learners and staff are fully safeguarded.
- Co-ordinate, oversee and embed Safeguarding across the campuses within a designated locality, contributing to staff training, student awareness raising and the development of policies and procedures.
- Oversee referrals to external agencies and provide guidance and support to colleagues in dealing with more complex safeguarding cases
- Provide monthly accurate and detailed management reporting on safeguarding occurrences and referrals as required and directed by line management
- Act as a central point of contact and liaison for external agencies and develop strong working relationships with internal and external partners
Candidates must have:
- Minimum Level 2 Safeguarding qualification or equivalent safeguarding training.
- Previous experience of working in a post 16 educational setting.
- Considerable experience of providing welfare support, ideally within an educational environment.
- Experience of liaising with parents/carers/other stakeholders
- Knowledge and understanding of Child Protection and Safeguarding Young People and Vulnerable Adults policies and government guidance
- High sensitive awareness of needs of vulnerable students who may have a wide range of barriers to overcome.
