Senior Social Worker - Adults Learning Disabilities Team

We are seeking dedicated Senior Social Workers to join our Adult Learning Disability Team. This role is crucial in promoting and maintaining independence for vulnerable adults, supporting carers, and protecting adults at risk. The successful candidate will have a strong background in care management, safeguarding, and working within a multidisciplinary framework.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Conduct strength-based care act assessments, Mental Capacity Assessments (MCAs), and annual statutory reviews.
  • Manage duty operations occasionally, and engage in Community Health Choices (CHC) and Court of Protection (COP) work.
  • Provide safeguarding support and manage longer-term casework.
  • Complete and review care management work, ensuring adherence to the Care Act 2014.
  • Work collaboratively with partner agencies and maintain good working relationships.
  • Occasionally act as a duty worker, undertake Section 42 work, MCAs, and best interest assessments.
  • Provide supervision and support to less experienced staff when required.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Degree in Social Work or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience in a similar role within the field of learning disabilities and/or autism.
  • Excellent report writing and computer skills.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to negotiate well.
  • Experience working within a multidisciplinary framework.
  • Some experience in supervision is desirable but not essential.
  • Full current driving licence and use of a vehicle are desirable due to the nature of the role.
