Job Title: Accountant

Location: Sutton Coldfield

Contract Details: Perm

Salary: Up to 30k

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Financial Accountant and the Head of Finance to ensure all financial procedures are followed and records are up to date
  • Raise and post sales invoices, chase outstanding balances, and resolve payment queries
  • Monitor and reconcile bank accounts
  • Reconcile credit card statements and prepare schedules for posting
  • Manage petty cash requests, ensuring correct entry and balancing of receipts
  • Maintain clients' accounts, ensure invoicing accuracy, and reconcile monthly
  • Prepare journal entries, maintain balance sheets, and support posting journals with documentation
  • Assist in maintaining the purchase ledger, ensuring invoices are logged correctly and reconciled
  • Maintain the asset register and update it in line with capital expenditure
  • Support the Head of Finance in grant applications and maintain detailed records

Essential Skills, Qualifications, and Experience:

  • Part-qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent qualifications by experience
  • Experience in the care sector is desirable
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping
  • Proficiency in using accounting software such as Sage
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team

Desirable Skills, Qualifications, and Experience:

  • Knowledge of grant applications and funding processes
  • Experience in preparing persuasive grant applications

Technologies:

  • Proficiency in using accounting software, particularly Sage
