About the Role
We are looking for a driven Commercial Financial Analyst to join dynamic finance team for my client in Paddington. This is a pivotal role in a FTSE-listed business, where you'll contribute to key financial planning, analysis, and decision-making processes. Your role will seamlessly blend traditional management accounting with advanced financial analysis, KPI reporting, and long-term strategic planning, supporting both the Head of FP&A and business leads.
Key Responsibilities
- Management Accounts: Prepare, analyse, and report monthly management accounts with detailed commentary on variances and financial movements.
- Forecasting & Budgeting: Drive the budgeting and forecasting processes, maintaining accuracy and alignment with strategic business goals.
- KPI Reporting: Develop, track, and present key performance indicators (KPIs) to provide insights on operational and financial performance.
- Variance Analysis: Conduct detailed variance analysis, identifying and communicating key drivers to senior stakeholders.
- Long-Term Planning & Scenario Analysis: Support strategic initiatives with scenario modelling and long-term financial planning.
- Ad Hoc Analysis: Provide ad hoc analysis to support the Head of FP&A and business leads with critical financial insights.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Partner with senior management and key business leads, delivering data-driven insights and contributing to strategic decision-making.
- Continuous Improvement: Champion process improvements within financial reporting and analysis to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Experience required:
- Qualifications: Ideally ACA, CIMA, or ACCA qualified. Candidates actively studying with only a few exams remaining are also welcome to apply.
- Experience: Proven experience in a commercial finance or management accounts role, with robust expertise in month-end processes, management accounts, forecasting, and budgeting.
- Industry Insight: Experience within a relevant industry setting is essential, preferably within a corporate or fast-paced environment.
- Analytical & Technical Skills: Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, plus proficiency with financial systems and advanced Excel skills.
- Communication & Stakeholder Management: Ability to communicate complex information clearly to senior stakeholders and business leaders.
