As the Data Protection Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our client complies with all relevant data protection laws and regulations. You will be responsible for developing and implementing data protection policies, ensuring the organisation's data privacy practises are in line with industry best practises.
What You'll Do:
Lead the development and implementation of the organisation's data protection framework, policies, and procedures.
Provide expert advice and guidance on data protection matters to management and the wider organisation.
Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify any potential data protection risks or breaches.
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure that data privacy is embedded throughout all business processes.
Stay up to date with the latest developments in data protection legislation and assess their impact on the organisation.
Act as the main point of contact for data protection queries and complaints from internal and external stakeholders.
Conduct training sessions to raise awareness of data protection within the organisation.
What You'll Bring:
A proven track record of working in a similar role, preferably within the Financial Services industry.
In-depth knowledge of data protection laws, regulations, and industry best practises.
Strong analytical skills to identify and assess potential data protection risks.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively advise and educate stakeholders at all levels.
The ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
A professional certification in data protection, such as CIPP/E or CIPM, would be an advantage.
