Salary: £80,000 - £90,000 per annum + Executive Benefits

Job Purpose:

The Head of Finance is responsible for providing strategic financial leadership across our clients specialist private healthcare organisation, overseeing all aspects of financial management and ensuring sustainable growth in their complex care delivery operations. As a key senior finance leader based form their Bedford operations, you will drive financial strategy, manage risks, and ensure robust financial governance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with specialist care delivery objectives and support long-term growth
  • Oversee financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting activities, with specific focus on service package optimisation and service line profitability
  • Lead the finance team in delivering excellent financial performance
  • Monitor KPIs alongside financial performance, implementing measures to optimise resource allocation while maintaining exceptional standards
  • Manage complex care package pricing, investment strategies, and capital structure to maximise returns while ensuring quality care delivery
  • Oversee preparation of financial statements aligned with care sector requirements and regulatory compliance
  • Develop robust financial controls specific to care sector operations and risk management
  • Lead M&A activities and integration of new specialist care services
  • Provide regular board reports highlighting key care quality and financial metrics specific to specialist care delivery

Qualifications:

  • Professional qualifications required (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA)
  • Care sector financial management qualifications advantageous

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 10-15 years demonstrable experience in senior finance leadership, with significant exposure to specialist care sector operations
  • Proven track record of scaling care sector organisations while maintaining quality standards
  • Strong understanding of care sector funding mechanisms, commissioner relationships, and regulatory requirements
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills across care sector organisations
  • In-depth knowledge of care package costing, analysis, and optimisation
  • Solid understanding of CQC requirements and care sector compliance
  • Experience managing finance teams within regulated care environments
  • Ability to balance commercial growth with care quality in a dynamic specialist care setting
