Assistant Accountant

- Annual Salary: Up to £32,000
We are currently seeking an experienced Assistant Accountant to join our clients finance team for an 8-month maternity cover contract. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing prepayments and accruals, as well as transactional accounts. This role is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated individual who is ready to step in and make an immediate impact.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Managing and processing prepayments and accruals with accuracy and efficiency.
- Handling transactional accounting duties, including reconciliations and adjustments.
- Assisting with month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Ensuring financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures.
- Collaborating with the finance team to improve financial procedures and systems.
- Providing support for audits by supplying the required information and preparing requested documentation.
- Assisting in the preparation of financial statements and reports.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an Assistant Accountant, particularly with prepayments, accruals, and transactional accounts.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office, especially Excel.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must be available to start within the next 2 weeks.
