As a member of the Enterprise Commercial team you will be reporting to the Enterprise Commercial Director to develop and implement both aspects of this role. You will provide leadership and direction to the DE business and commercial teams, within a matrix structure, and help deliver the full potential of our assets while continually reviewing and developing the charging methodologies from pre-contract through to asset operation.

As our Senior Charging Methodology & Connections Manager within the DE business, you'll work within an exciting, challenging, and growing area of the SSE Enterprise business, working as part of multi-disciplinary team. SSE DE has a growing number of Private Networks and connection agreements with transmission and distribution owners across the UK for its portfolio of projects comprising of Behind the Meter (BtM), Private Networks and IDNO projects.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Working closely with both our engineering, commercial and project teams throughout the full project development phase to ensure the charging methodology for our networks is prepared.
  • Ensuring that the charging methodology is OFGEM compliant and leading the Ofgem approval process.
  • Periodically checking that each charging methodology is up to date taking account of any changes in Regulations and circumstances on the projects.
  • Managing our bi-lateral connection agreements and associated financial liabilities, building new and enhancing existing relationships with all host network operators to ensure SSE DE maximises its position with and through its stakeholders.
  • Representing the business at National Grid Scheme Team meetings where your influencing skills will secure the right results for our projects.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

  • Knowledge of the Distribution Connection and Use of System Agreement (DCUSA), related codes of practice, explanatory notes and technical guides
  • Knowledge of the Connection and Use of System Code (CUSC) ESO, related codes of practice, explanatory notes and technical guides.
  • Working practical experience with developing and operating Pricing Models and methodologies, for example; CDCM & ECDM.
  • Intricate Knowledge of Bi-lateral connection agreements with DNO's and the ESO.
  • Strong experience in UK transmission and distribution contract management, contract negotiations, stakeholder management, ability to build new relationships and to influence at all levels.
