Head of Learning Disabilities

Domus are recruiting for a fantastic opportunity for a Head of Learning Disabilities to join a well-established and highly reputable provider of care and support for adults with Mental Health needs.

Based in Newbury, you will be responsible for the leadership, direction and performance of a cluster of Supported Living services across Berkshire, predominately catering for adults with Learning Disabilities.

You will have a key role in quality monitoring, staff development, training, budgets, reporting on the performance and achievements of your teams and celebrating success.

Your role will be key in building relationships with commissioners, families and other key stakeholders and creating opportunities to support more people, so both written and verbal communication is essential.

Key Responsibilities of a Head of Learning Disabilities:

  • Lead and develop a culture that values the very highest standards of safety, quality and excellent service user care.
  • Insert measures into Services which guarantee the high standards of health and safety; actioning any identified areas of concern as a priority.
  • Lead and manage the Management Team across all aspects of day-to-day business deliverables through supervision, effective management, personal development, retention, and succession planning.
  • Monitoring performance in relation to quality and key performance indicators to agreed targets for care standards and quality.
  • Ensure compliance with all statutory regulatory bodies and company policies and procedures, and be accountable for ensuring findings from internal site quality inspections are reviewed and actioned as appropriate.

Key requirements a Head of Learning Disabilities

must have:

  • Multi-site management experience or preferably experience as an Area/Regional/Operations manager across services for adults Mental Health needs and/or Learning Disabilities.
  • NVQ Level 5 in Health and Social Care or equivalent
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to deal with staffing on all levels
  • Driving License and car
