This role is to add support to the new Finance Manager during a busy time of recruitment and new project work - solution driven and dynamic character needed to work closely with the Finance Manager

Job Objective: The role involves generating regular financial and management reports for the UK Group and providing assistance to the Finance Manager. The primary focus is on maintaining high standards of accuracy, quality, and integrity in financial data recording while delivering timely financial information to stakeholders.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform month-end closing tasks, including balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, provisions, and prepayment calculations.
  • Conduct bank reconciliations.
  • Generate monthly sales and margin flash reports.
  • Manage monthly management accounts, analysing variances to budget and prior year, and providing commentary to the Executive Team.
  • Prepare monthly departmental cost reports, identifying and rectifying reporting errors, analysing variances, and conducting review meetings with Cost Centre Managers.
  • Support the Commercial Team by conducting project-specific margin analysis to secure revenue projects.
  • Assist in employee benefit reporting preparation, including P11D, P46, and PSA forms.
  • Support the Finance Manager in year-end closing activities, such as providing information to external auditors and preparing statutory accounts.
  • Contribute to annual budget and forecast preparation.
  • Issue manual invoices and purchase orders.
  • Prepare and submit governmental returns, including VAT, Payment Practices, Performance submissions, and National Statistics surveys.
  • Manage the fixed asset approval process, ensuring accurate and timely capitalisation of assets and conducting reviews to ensure completeness and accuracy of the Fixed Asset Register.
  • Provide support to the Finance department for ad-hoc requests as required.
  • Take responsibility for personal health and safety and act to mitigate risks.

Essential Qualifications:

  • ACCA, CIMA or ACA PQ or Qualified
  • Experience in reporting under UK GAAP (FRS 102).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Familiarity with SAP.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to explain financial information to non-financial personnel.
  • Effective organisational and time management abilities to prioritise deadlines and adapt to business needs.
