What the day will look like

This role will provide support to the CFO – EMEA Wealth including acting as deputy for both team leadership and broader duties.

Key responsibilities involve acting as Finance Lead for the UK Investment business, providing support and consolidation for the EMEA (ex UK) Wealth Business, providing strategic and business case support, and assisting with statutory and regulatory tasks.

How this opportunity is different

Lead FP&A activities relating to forecasting and budgeting driving consistency across the EMEA Wealth team.

Build and maintain strong partnerships with senior executives within the allocated business teams and lead all finance initiatives related to those businesses including preparing and presenting materials at the monthly business Operations/Finance meetings, with a focus on Cost-benefit analysis (CBAs), budgeting cycles, review and support MD&A.

Co-ordination and strategic review of the consolidated EMEA Wealth (ex UK Retirement) businesses including developing improved KPIs and associated reporting.

Act as the Finance representative on a number of leadership, pricing and risk committees (in some instances, deputising for the CFO – EMEA Wealth). Involvement in regulatory and Statutory duties where appropriate to support the UK AIL Board and UK LT.

Provide strategic analysis, forward looking guidance and challenge to the annual plans that contribute to the commercial development of the business.

Monitor the overall financial performance of the business and report progress on all key financial metrics and business initiatives providing consolidation and overview of all monthly reporting updates to the senior executives in the business and CFO – EMEA Wealth

Lead compensation cycle planning with the Investment Leadership Team

Continuously develop and implement key performance measures, including trend analysis and other operational data to provide insightful and challenging contribution to the overall running of the business.

Deliver operational enhancements, process improvement and streamlining and assist in improving usage of recently deployed PSA financial system.

Improve Working Capital forecasting accuracy and assist in driving delivery of increased free cashflow.

Partner with the Krakow Centre of Excellence and other teams to deliver analysis and insights to influence the business and drive financial performance.

Work with the Krakow Centre of Excellence on the month end close and reporting process as well as budgeting and forecasting cycles and ensure that it meets the needs of the local country, regional and global stakeholders.

Coach and mentor Finance Analysts within the Krakow Centre of Excellence to assist them in the progression of their role and prepare them for advancement.

Skills and experience that will lead to success

  • Ability to understand the business and communicate the wider financial impact of business decision making to senior executives and governance committees
  • Strong financial acumen and commercial awareness including demonstrable experience in business partnering, forecasting and FP&A
  • Experience of working in a financial services regulated environment preferred but not essential
  • Experience in preparing management reports and budgets, revenue recognition, cost benefit analysis, financial controls, budgeting and reporting
  • Experience of leading and managing teams of finance professionals
  • A self-starter with the ability to work on own initiative
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent stakeholder management, relationship building and influencing skills at senior management level.
  • Confidence and credibility to face off to the organisation's most senior management and directors.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in order to influence both Finance and non-Finance colleagues
  • Expert at building and maintaining relationships
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Statutory accounting experience is advantageous

Professional Qualifications

Qualified Accountant [CIMA / ACCA / ACA Qualifications or equivalent.
