A leading Aerospace Defence company is looking to grow their team and have excellent opportunities for a Weights Engineer to bolster their Structure & Systems teams. This opportunity involves working with cutting-edge technology, in a progressive team with extensive training and develop opportunities.
Role Description
- Defining and carrying out engineering tasks within your span of responsibility for you and any subordinate staff under your control
- Agreeing your work plan with your line manager and applying the most efficient engineering methods available
- Ensuring the technical content of your work and also that of subordinate staff, including deliverables are acceptable
- Ensuring effective interactions with your team, customers, and others, to promote the best interests of the team, department and company
- Providing efficiency and effectiveness suggestions for the development of Weights Engineering toolsets and processes within the discipline capability development framework
Skills and Qualifications
- Comprehensive knowledge of aircraft structure and systems Weights Engineering processes and methods, including early lifecycle weight, centre of gravity and inertia property assessment, and the management of weight targets
- Degree/HND/HNC in a STEM subject or equivalent professional qualifications in terms of formal education
- Relevant experience working within a Weights Engineering, Structural Engineering or Airframe related discipline
- Previous experience of managing staff would be advantageous
