Stores Assistant

Our client, a prominent player in the manufacturing sector, is seeking a dedicated Stores Assistant on a temp to perm basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate the stores in compliance with BS EN ISO 9001:2015 and the client's quality system.
  • Monitor stock levels and carry out stock checks to ensure accurate inventory records.
  • Generate purchase orders for stock and consumable items.
  • Source competitive pricing for supplies to optimise costs.
  • Use a forklift for unloading, stacking deliveries, and moving materials as needed.
  • Receive goods, book items on Job Boss and Excel, and allocate Goods Received Notes (GRNs).
  • Issue stock and record transactions on Job Boss.
  • Compile material picking lists and ensure accurate labelling of materials.
  • Return rejected goods to suppliers promptly and ensure proper labelling and recording.
  • Monitor and replenish personal protection equipment (PPE) and keep accurate records.
  • Monitor compliance with health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Address any issues in the stores promptly and effectively.
  • Perform any other tasks as reasonably requested by management.

Job Requirements:

  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to operate a forklift (certification preferred but not required).
  • Proficiency in using inventory management software and Excel.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team.
  • Reliability and punctuality are essential.
  • Understanding of health and safety regulations and procedures.
