REED Accountancy & Finance are delighted to be working with a commercial business on the outskirts of Belfast city centre and are actively recruiting for an Accounts Assistant to join their stable and successful finance team.

This is a full time permanent opportunity, office based.

The Accounts Assistant is an integral part of the finance team and will report directly to the Finance Manager. They will have full responsibility for the sub-contract ledgers both NI & ROI and full details are outlined below. The desired candidate will be outgoing, organised, intuitive, professional, tenacious, and effective. A people person with accountability and a strong work ethic.

The Role:

Assist the Finance Manager with the day-to-day activities of the finance team as required

Process sub-contractor payment certs accurately and efficiently

Dealing with queries and calls from sub-contractors as required

Registering new RCT contracts and inputting payment notifications on ROS system for ROI operations

Setting up and verifying new sub-contractors with HMRC

Compiling and processing the payment run for all sub-contract ledgers

Responsible for the continuous integrity of all sub-contract ledgers

Ensure all sales invoices are raised in a timely manner

Credit control function - contacting customers by phone and email in respect of outstanding invoices and resolving any queries

Maintaining up-to-date Debtors Ledgers across all entities

Process monthly expenses claims for all entities

Attendance at weekly finance meeting to review deliverables

All ledgers and schedules under the responsibility of this role must be kept up to date to aid company reporting and decision making

Any other duties that may be required from time to time in order to meet the responsibilities of the role

The Person:

At least 3 years previous experience in a similar position

Experience in construction/utilities sector essential

Able to work with minimum supervision, manage own workload, meet deadlines, prioritise, and deal with multiple demands

A positive approach to work with a solutions-based mindset

Ability to show initiative, support colleagues and multi-task

Ability to communicate effectively and build rapport

The Benefits:

A competitive salary £28,000 to £30,000 per annum
