Intelligence Development Officer

We require experienced Intelligence Development Officer to support a specialist police team based in Ryton On Dunsmore.

This is an interim position initially for 6 - 9 months with the potential to be extended, dependent on workload.

Provide an efficient and effective intelligence support function to the police team by researching, developing and actioning information and intelligence in order to support operational policing activities

Maintain intelligence systems to ensure the police unit is provided with a current and accurate intelligence picture.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct Intelligence and investigation work primarily in support of the unit's portfolios and Control Strategy.
  • Gather, develop and use intelligence and crime data effectively to support the unit and National objectives.
  • Have an excellent working knowledge of CPIA, Fraud Act 2006, Theft Act 1968, Data Protection principles, ECHR, RIPA, CHIS code of practise, NIM, covert tactics and ensure the principles are adhered to. Post holder will be required to engage with Law Enforcement Agencies and discuss intelligence tactics at a high level so a well-founded background in this work is essential.
  • Assist in the development and assessment of less experienced colleagues as requested.
  • Support other law enforcement agencies on operations where appropriate both nationally and internationally.
  • Maintain, utilise and expand a substantial national and international network of contacts to facilitate the role.
  • Contribute towards the identification of crime trends in order to develop innovative intelligence lead and proactive solutions using the unit's resources and negotiation of law enforcement support.

Skills and Experience

Previous experience of working in a law enforcement Intelligence role particularly in assessing and developing intelligence. Experience of interrogating national police systems and then creating Intelligence documents such as Subject Profiles for dissemination to Police Forces and other law enforcement agencies.

This is a temporary role, working full-time, with a pay rate of £15.96 per hour PAYE and you'll be working via REED who offer great benefits such as discounts, cashback offers and more as well as weekly pay.
