Job Title: Digital Learning Designer

Salary: £30,000

Term: 6 Month Fixed Term Contract

A fantastic opportunity for a digitally minded professional to play a massive part in the next stage of this award winning Apprenticeship and Training provider.

The purpose of this role is to be part of the technical delivery team and work with the delivery staff directly line managed by the Head of Operations and Quality. Your role will be using our AI lesson building software and BUD to create innovative training plans and lessons for apprentices across a number of our technical standards.

You will use your learning/instructional design expertise to design, develop, user test and evaluate online courses. A significant part of your role will be to work with the Product Development team to establish mechanisms for building transformational and engaging learning experiences in a wholly online environment.

This is a hybrid role, part office (West Yorks) part WFH. .

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and develop online lessons using Synthesia AI and embed these within the BUD training templates from already developed lesson plans.
  • Design, user testing and evaluate courses that are interactive, engaging and provide a compelling learner experience
  • Support the creation of workflows for course development, including learning design, user testing and evaluation
  • Support the learning design process with SMEs to design assessment tasks that allow learners to test their understanding, provide appropriate feedback and encourage critical thinking skills and self-directed learning
  • Work closely with team members to ensure courses are designed according to the agreed specifications and quality standards
  • Keep well-informed with existing and emerging best practices in online learning design and digital content development including theory, design, implementation, and evaluation for the benefit of the company
  • Develop guidelines for good practice for online course design approaches
  • Guide and train other team members in the discipline of learning design
  • Identify inefficiencies and develop and instigate new ways of working to ensure course development workflows are as streamlined as possible

Skills and Experience (essential)

  • Strong knowledge of online learning and the development of high-quality digital resources
  • Digitally creative and has experience of using online editing tools
  • Comprehensive and current knowledge of teaching, learning and assessment practice based on research and evidence
  • Understanding of learning/Instructional design for blended and online education.
  • Good understanding of learner, customer and employer needs and a track record of developing and delivering a high-quality provision
  • Understand what constitutes poor operational performance and how to manage improvements
  • Demonstratable experience developing high quality online teaching, learning and assessment resources
  • Experience developing online learning resources which are highly effective at engaging learners
  • Experience carrying out quality assurance activity to investigate and review the quality of education (e.g. deep dives, learner interviews, work scrutiny etc.)
  • Track record of planning for quality improvement and responding to quality issues
  • Excellent communication, listening & problem-solving skills Skills and Experience (desirable)
  • Knowledge of Government & national priorities for education and the skills agenda
  • Project management experience
  • Familiar with content creation tools
