Accounts Payable Assistant
- Location: Chelmsford town centre (Work from home 4 days per week)
- Job Type: Permanent - Full-time - 37.5 hours per week
- Salary: £25-28k dependant on experience level
We are looking for a diligent Accounts Payable Assistant to join our clients finance team. This role is ideal for someone experienced in Purchase Ledger, who has a keen eye for detail and is comfortable working to tight deadlines. The successful candidate will be responsible for processing purchase invoices, managing supplier accounts, and assisting with month-end close among other duties.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Process purchase invoices and maintain up-to-date supplier records.
- Prepare and process weekly payment runs and handle manual payments daily.
- Reconcile supplier statements and manage the finance inbox.
- Distribute supplier invoices for approval and address internal and external queries.
- Manage supplier accounts and process employee expenses.
- Conduct weekly bank reconciliations and assist with month-end close procedures.
- Perform ad hoc duties as required, especially during busy periods like month-end.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Team player with the ability to also work independently using own initiative.
- Excellent communication skills and a positive, can-do attitude.
- Flexibility to take on extra duties during peak times.
- Proficiency in Excel and general computer literacy.
- Experience within Purchase Ledger
- AAT studier or someone pursuing a similar qualification would be an advantage.
