Catering Manager

We are seeking a dedicated Catering Manager to oversee the operations of two catering social enterprises for a charity. The role involves ensuring the highest standards of health and safety, menu planning, stock control, and customer service. This is a temporary position starting from August 15th, with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate..
Day to Day of the role:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the tea room, ensuring compliance with health and safety procedures and Environmental Health registration.
- Plan menus and source ingredients locally wherever possible, maintaining quality and service standards.
- Oversee stock control and ordering to maintain appropriate levels and minimise wastage.
- Prepare food and beverages, involving and training people with learning disabilities
- Liaise with other managers to ensure adequate supply of cakes and other food items.
- Handle all monies according to company policy and ensure safe management of funds.
- Implement reporting procedures for food or hygiene issues and escalate them appropriately.
- Market and promote the Tea Room, manage seasonal events, and strive to exceed sales targets while maintaining quality and customer service.
- Maintain high levels of customer service and satisfaction.
- Ensure the building is maintained to a high standard of cleanliness and report maintenance issues as necessary.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in catering management, preferably within a social enterprise or charity setting.
- Strong understanding of health and safety regulations related to catering.
- Excellent organisational and leadership skills.
- Ability to work with and train workers
- Strong marketing and event management skills.
- Financial acumen with experience in handling money and budgeting.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
