  • Hours: 37.5 hours per week, onsite

We are seeking a dedicated Catering Manager to oversee the operations of two catering social enterprises for a charity. The role involves ensuring the highest standards of health and safety, menu planning, stock control, and customer service. This is a temporary position starting from August 15th, with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate..

Day to Day of the role:

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the tea room, ensuring compliance with health and safety procedures and Environmental Health registration.
  • Plan menus and source ingredients locally wherever possible, maintaining quality and service standards.
  • Oversee stock control and ordering to maintain appropriate levels and minimise wastage.
  • Prepare food and beverages, involving and training people with learning disabilities
  • Liaise with other managers to ensure adequate supply of cakes and other food items.
  • Handle all monies according to company policy and ensure safe management of funds.
  • Implement reporting procedures for food or hygiene issues and escalate them appropriately.
  • Market and promote the Tea Room, manage seasonal events, and strive to exceed sales targets while maintaining quality and customer service.
  • Maintain high levels of customer service and satisfaction.
  • Ensure the building is maintained to a high standard of cleanliness and report maintenance issues as necessary.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in catering management, preferably within a social enterprise or charity setting.
  • Strong understanding of health and safety regulations related to catering.
  • Excellent organisational and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work with and train workers
  • Strong marketing and event management skills.
  • Financial acumen with experience in handling money and budgeting.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
