Are you highly organised, proactive, and passionate about ensuring safe and effective staffing in a healthcare environment? A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Workforce Coordinator to join a fast-paced mental health service in Chelmsford.

This role is central to maintaining efficient rota management across multiple wards, supporting clinical teams, and ensuring staffing levels are optimised for safe, high-quality care delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and update the internal rostering system for all wards
  • Work closely with Ward Managers to schedule rotas 8-12 weeks in advance
  • Fill shift vacancies through overtime, bank, and agency staff as needed
  • Liaise with approved agency suppliers and manage bookings in line with PSL requirements
  • Coordinate with HR and payroll to ensure accurate reflection of hours worked
  • Track and engage with bank staff to maintain availability and compliance
  • Provide regular staffing reports to senior leadership
  • Attend daily operational meetings and escalate any staffing risks
  • Handle administrative tasks related to scheduling, POs, and system updates

What You'll Need:

  • Previous experience in rota management (ideal, but not essential)
  • Healthcare or clinical workforce experience is a plus
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills
  • Ability to manage a busy workload and prioritise effectively
  • Confident communicator who can collaborate with both clinical and operational teams
