Workforce Coordinator - Mental Health Services

Are you highly organised, proactive, and passionate about ensuring safe and effective staffing in a healthcare environment? A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Workforce Coordinator to join a fast-paced mental health service in Chelmsford.
This role is central to maintaining efficient rota management across multiple wards, supporting clinical teams, and ensuring staffing levels are optimised for safe, high-quality care delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and update the internal rostering system for all wards
- Work closely with Ward Managers to schedule rotas 8-12 weeks in advance
- Fill shift vacancies through overtime, bank, and agency staff as needed
- Liaise with approved agency suppliers and manage bookings in line with PSL requirements
- Coordinate with HR and payroll to ensure accurate reflection of hours worked
- Track and engage with bank staff to maintain availability and compliance
- Provide regular staffing reports to senior leadership
- Attend daily operational meetings and escalate any staffing risks
- Handle administrative tasks related to scheduling, POs, and system updates
What You'll Need:
- Previous experience in rota management (ideal, but not essential)
- Healthcare or clinical workforce experience is a plus
- Strong administrative and organisational skills
- Ability to manage a busy workload and prioritise effectively
- Confident communicator who can collaborate with both clinical and operational teams
