Special Educational Needs Coordinator – SENCO - ASAP Start

Qualified Special Educational Needs Coordinator required for an Ofsted "Outstanding" secondary school in Shrewsbury. This excellent school with dynamic, supportive leadership, excellent resources and stunning facilities requires a SENCO to provide additional support for the remainder of the academic year. The school requires a qualified SENCO who has an excellent understanding of special educational needs and is committed to ensuring that every child receives the support that they deserve.

As SENCO you will be joining an experienced leadership team who are driven to make a positive impact on the lives of young people. You will be encouraged to play an active part in leadership meetings and decisions surrounding special educational needs. To be considered for this role you must have recent relevant experience as a SENCO and be confident in completing all relevant paperwork and assessments. This role requires a special educational needs coordinator SENCO on a fulltime basis, Monday-Friday.

Ideally you will:

  • Hold the NASENCO Qualification.
  • Be a QTS or QTLS Teacher .
  • Have SENCo experience in a mainstream setting.
  • Be able to demonstrate a track record of working with third party agencies.
  • Be happy to work in partnership with the Senior Leadership Team.
  • Have an excellent understanding of a range of additional needs.
  • Capable of creating Safeguarding strategies and processes that will be applied across whole of School Used to adopting a truly "Consultative" approach.
  • Able to communicate with both the Children, staff and relevant external parties.
  • Be comfortable delivering training to teaching and support staff.
