This is a unique opportunity to join a company whose products are held in high regard at an exciting stage in their development in the UK construction sector.

Our client is seeking a dynamic individual to join their Specification team because of an increase in demand for their products. If you have experience working with Architects, Engineers, Groundwork and Housebuilding Contractors and have the professionalism and the expertise to secure project specifications, this role is for you.

Key Responsibilities of the role

  • Develop & promote sales of our Client's products across the South of England
  • Liaise with key supply chain partners and co-ordinate the best and most cost effective customer service offer for our Client's product range.
  • Focus on early stage engagement through collaborating with customers at the design / specification stages.
  • Develop and negotiate specification opportunities with housebuilders / Ground workers to drive product growth & awareness in association with the specification team & regional sales managers.
  • Develop and negotiate specification break opportunities with housebuilders / Ground workers to drive product growth.
  • Identify key decision makers, build strong relationships, selling value, our service and our expertise.
  • In tandem with, RSM & Specification team deliver impactful CPD presentations to raise awareness of company products and services.
  • Participate in marketing strategy by researching and identifying new areas to develop our product offering.
  • Participate in technical & research and development strategy by identifying new areas to develop as per our customers needs.
  • Personally deal with and resolve any customer complaints / issues relating to Facing Brick and SRW where appropriate.
  • Have a clear understanding of current & future market trends, industry and competitor developments.
  • Maintain collaborative working practices, developing good rapport and relationships with all internal stakeholders. Work closely with representatives of other product lines to leverage our scale and capitalise on all selling opportunities for a project.
  • To organise corporate hospitality events with Key decision makers / prospective customers.
  • Provide support to regional Groundwork and Housebuilding Contractors as required.
  • Encourage regional sales managers / specification team to pro-actively target new customers and visits through joint call days.
  • Review Ground work and Brickwork (sub)contractors targeted individually and by the team to ensure sales are maximised wherever possible.
  • Follow up on all project opportunities and customer requirements within the timeframes required.
  • Attend sales review meetings with Sales Director to discuss performance against objectives set.
  • Attend sales team meetings to support the team objectives.
  • Work with the regional sales team and head office staff who provides support to you in this role.
  • Actively work on your target list of customers and ensure our Client's are meeting those that can provide us with the most sales and opportunities.
  • Develop strong customer relationships to enable you to gain repeat orders.
  • Use our added value services such as the design services to help gain more orders.
  • Actively plan your diary 4-6 weeks in advance with key customer targets.
  • Attend appropriate networking events to build your contact database and enable you to follow up and secure one to one meetings.
  • Record all customers' interactions and notes as per company procedure / CRM.
  • Maintain CRM system as per procedures.
  • Use LinkedIn to identify customers and increase AG brand awareness.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required

  • Ability to confidently conduct one to one meeting in a professional environment.
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to recognise commercial opportunities and develop new business.
  • Technically competent
  • Previous experience in a specification role involving structural products or building product specification.
