We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Support Worker to join our dedicated team in Birmingham. This part-time role is ideal for someone passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of individuals with varying support needs, including those with learning disabilities and mental health challenges. We manage supported accommodation across Birmingham and need to grow the team by recruiting someone to oversee tenants, offer general life support, and accurately record any actions taken.
Hybrid working and independent working will be part of the role, but you'll be based in a modern office at Kings Norton Business Centre, alongside other management and staff members.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide person-centred care and support tailored to individual needs
- Assist with daily living activities such as benefit queries, prompts to make appointments and access to further housing.
- Support clients in accessing community services, appointments, and social activities
- Promote independence, dignity, and well-being at all times
- Maintain accurate records and report any concerns to senior staff
- Work collaboratively with families, healthcare professionals, and other support staff
Requirements
- Previous experience in a support role (preferred but not essential)
- A caring, empathetic, and patient nature
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends if required
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one)
- Full driving licence with access to a vehicle.
