SEN Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive SEN school in Middlesbrough. This role is ideal for someone with a passion for making a difference in the lives of students with special educational needs.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Provide tailored support to students with a range of SEN, ensuring they can access the curriculum and achieve their full potential.
- Work closely with the classroom teacher to implement individual education plans (IEPs).
- Assist with the preparation of learning materials and the classroom environment.
- Support students with their emotional and behavioural needs, promoting positive behaviour.
- Facilitate small group activities and one-to-one support sessions.
- Monitor and record students' progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.
- Contribute to a safe and inclusive learning environment.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience working with SEN students in an educational setting.
- Understanding of the challenges faced by students with SEN and strategies to support them.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a positive, encouraging approach.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
- Relevant qualifications in education or special needs support are desirable.
