Job title: Senior Underwriter
Salary: £50,000
Location: Gloucester
Purpose of role:
- To develop our clients' business in line with business plans and budgets
- To use industry knowledge and experience, and work with brokers, staff and insurers to deliver appropriate and competitive insurance terms, conditions and service levels
- To provide compliant and timely administration and documentation.
Key responsibilities:
- Achieving targets and delivering underwriting service standards as agreed by insurers and our client
- Delivering appropriate management information as required
- Contributing to team activity in line with business plans and budgets
- Dealing with new business enquiries and renewal invitations in line with agreed underwriting guidelines
- Liaising with brokers, and insurers in terms of coverage and pricing as required
- When orders are received, prompt processing of orders including policy production and invoicing
- Making referrals in line with agreed underwriting guidelines
- Managing internal mentoring and buddying relations as agreed
- Developing strong relationships with brokers and internal stakeholders
- Adhere to compliance and regulatory procedures
Skills & Experience:
- Technical knowledge of commercial combined problems ideally including experience of Property, Casualty, D&O (including professional Indemnity, Crime and Cyber), Group PA/Travel
- Ability to manage own and other time and workloads efficiently
- Ability to build relationships and communicate effectively with brokers and insurers
- Ability to understand 'best practice' in client service, compliance systems and processes and financial management
- Good understanding of all products offering cross selling opportunities
- Ability to understand, develop, implement and report on agreed plans and budgets
