Senior Marketing Excellence Manager

The global brand and product marketing team helps set the strategic direction for the brand globally and partners with the marketing teams in our regions to build emotional, long-term connections with customers and to drive adoption and growth across our product range.

We have an opportunity for a passionate marketer to join us on a 12-month term to focus on three important workstreams:

  1. Academy of Marketing
  2. Collaboration across the marketing community
  3. Sustainability storytelling

We're committed to help teams learn and grow in confidence on capabilities they need now and for the future, learning from external current best practice to continuously improve how we do marketing. The Academy of Marketing launched at end 2023 and is moving to the second phase, focussing on future skills and capabilities we need to develop. This role will help drive the development of the programme and support the day-to-day operation.

Behaviours and ways of working are just as important a technical skills and knowledge. We see collaboration as a key opportunity to drive greater efficiency and effectiveness of how we do marketing. This role will play a key part in kick-starting this workstream, identifying how we can improve and helping to drive change across our community of marketers.

Key Responsibilities:

Capability development

  • Lead the development of the Academy of Marketing in line with future ambitions and ways of working, so that we build knowledge and capabilities across the regions by equipping our marketers with leading-edge training, tools and methodologies
  • Work with subject matter experts, partners and agencies to deliver innovative and inspiring training that helps colleagues learn and get better at their jobs
  • Day to day management of our Academy hub, operations and all associated communications, driving engagement and participation

Cross functional collaboration

  • Work cross functionally to ensure sharing, alignment and integration is happening across the markets and teams and that we are improving efficiency and effectiveness
  • Build a sense of community across all marketing teams through execution of strategies and initiatives that enable effective collaboration and communication across the globe
  • Identify opportunities and make recommendations that support teams to become stronger at collaborating

Best practice & innovation

  • Identify and role model best practice ways of working across all marketing teams
  • Develop and deploy innovative new techniques, approaches and technologies to continue to drive marketing excellence across the regions
  • Stay on top of latest trends, emerging technologies, and best practice in marketing and ensure we are able to access and utilise latest thought leadership

Performance management & reporting

  • Establish an approach to ensure we are able to measure effectiveness of our marketing excellence initiatives
  • Provide regular updates to leadership on the progress of marketing excellence and capability activity

Sustainability storytelling

  • Lead the development of our Sustainability pages on the website, finding ways to share the journey our business is on through creation of engaging and informative content
  • Manage creation and development of all briefs, collaborating with Sustainability, Marketing and Communications colleagues, making sure cross-functional requirements are met and content is on-brand
  • Create a playbook to guide communication of Sustainability across all channels and audiences, to help tell a compelling and consistent story

Key requirements:

  • 8+ years of experience working across a range of marketing functions/disciplines within a large matrixed global organisation
  • Experience of managing a global marketing excellence programme and learning/development initiatives
  • Passionate about helping marketers do their jobs better
  • Strong understanding of marketing principles and current best practice
  • Experience in successfully leading global marketing teams, fostering collaboration, and ensuring effective communication across different time zones and cultures
  • Deep understanding of cultural nuances and the ability to adapt strategies to resonate with diverse international audiences. Experience working with teams from different cultural backgrounds
  • Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management; high emotional intelligence beneficial
  • Ability to work across multiple markets globally.
