They say you never forget your first time at Fortnum & Mason. More than a mere shop, this place has helped write history. Feeding the appetites of kings and queens, all united in their love for the extraordinary. It all began with Queen Anne's insistence on fresh candles every night, leaving half-burnt royal wax for an enterprising footman William Fortnum, to recycle and sell on. With the help of his landlord Hugh Mason, he started a business. And so in 1707, Fortnum & Mason was born.

About the role

The Digital Business Channel Apprenticeship will help you enhance and develop your skills across key areas of the business working on a rotational programme across 4 function areas. This programme will be your first step into Fortnum & Mason providing you with development and essential skills to enable you to choose your career path within Fortnum's. We are excited about the support, mentoring and guidance you will receive from our business. Fortnum & Mason truly believe in developing our people and this is your chance to get hands-on and make it happen. During the programme you will learn and work with our Retail, Online & Hospitality.

A Typical Day

Retail:

  • You will gain an understanding of how we at Fortnum's bring JOY to our customers!
  • You will gain an understanding of operational excellence
  • Learn all about our hero and heritage products and their importance to the brand
  • How to deliver KPI's in line with our vision and strategy
  • Concierge and Customer Service:
  • How to build relationships with VIP clients
  • Learning how we create bespoke proposals for our clients
  • Being a brand ambassador at our networking events
  • Anticipating what products will appeal to which clients

Online:

  • Gain an understanding about campaign launches, working on different codes
  • You will develop working knowledge of implementing search engine optimisation best practice
  • Understand how we design online campaigns
  • Reporting on key trends from campaigns and trade

Hospitality:

  • Understanding our future Hospitality critical path
  • Defining service and trading and how we excel in delivering the best Fortnum's customer service
  • Managing key stakeholder relationships across restaurants and teams
  • How to deliver KPIs in line with our vision and strategy

You must have

  • GCSE English & Maths 4-9 (C-A*) or equivalent

Skills needed

  • A passion for learning and developing
  • Ability to demonstrate good verbal and written communication
  • Willingness to contribute as part of a team
