Job Title: Industrial Electrician
Location: Sites based in Buxton area

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Electrician to join a leading production business in the Buxton area, producing over 500,000 tonnes of high-quality products annually.

Role Overview: Our client is seeking an Industrial Electrician to join their maintenance team. The successful candidate will perform scheduled, planned, and reactive maintenance on all electrical equipment and instrumentation. This role is crucial in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of kilns, milling, and hydrating plants, while adhering to all electrical regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Attend daily team briefs and department meetings.
  • Adhere to company and local Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) policies.
  • Perform safety and maintenance checks, documenting findings accurately.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical faults quickly to minimise production downtime.
  • Assist in commissioning new plant or equipment.
  • Provide out-of-hours electrical breakdown cover as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs.
  • Contribute to root cause analysis reports for significant downtime events.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Time-served Apprenticeship (Essential).
  • ONC or equivalent in Electrical Engineering (Essential).
  • HNC or equivalent in Electrical Engineering (Advantageous).
  • Experience in the chemical processing industry.
  • Knowledge of PLCs, variable speed drives, and process instrumentation.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Strong understanding of plant operations and controls.
  • Familiarity with SHE procedures and safe working practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
  • Competence in working at heights using various methods (steps, ladders, scaffolds, MEWPS).
