Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

About the Role:
TimePlan Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to support secondary-aged students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs in a school in Watford. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to work closely with young people who require additional support in their learning, behaviour, and emotional well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide whole class, 1:1 and small group support to students with SEMH in the classroom and other settings.
- Help students engage with their learning and build positive relationships.
- Assist with managing and de-escalating challenging behaviour in line with school policies.
- Work closely with teaching staff and SENCO to implement individual education plans (IEPs).
- Support the social and emotional development of students and encourage positive interactions.
Ideal Candidate:
- Experience working with SEN or young people, particularly those with SEMH needs.
- Comfortable working with students exhibiting potentially very challenging behaviour.
- Passionate about making a difference in the lives of vulnerable young people.
- Ability to remain calm, patient, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
- DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
