Role – Electronic and Electrical Engineer role
Location – Close to Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk
Working hours – Monday to Friday – Full time hours
Capacity of role – Permanent position
Salary - £35,000 - £45,000 per annum
Our client is currently recruiting for a Electronic and Electrical Engineer to join their busy maintenance based team.
Candidates will need to have a sound understanding of mechanical and electric based experience.
Main duties will include –
Installation of new and existing equipment including electrical and electronic control systems.
To assist the Department Head in providing engineering end maintenance support to all departments within the group. Prompt attendance to machinery failures/breakdowns providing fault finding techniques, utilising PLC software and electrical/electronic test equipment and general repairs and improvements.
Programming of PLCs, introducing updates and upgrading electrical control panels for automated systems and HMIs. Experience of Allen Bradley and Mitsubishi systems would be highly beneficial
Replacement and upgrading of outdated/obsolete systems, to achieve company-wide consistency, flexibility and reliability.
To assist production when necessary to maintain and improve output targets, implementing planned maintenance tasks to ensure optimal production availability.
Identifying areas throughout the site and manufacturing to implement continuous improvement per annum based on activities, creating solutions including project based work experience levels
Where possible offer suggestions for improvement and cost reduction on all aspects of engineering activities
To complete and record all breakdown tasks on Maintenance based software
To provide assistance and/or supervision of Service Engineers/Contractor as and when required.
Ensure equipment in all departments is maintained to high standards and is compliant with regards to regulations, safety audits and insurance.
Candidate Attributes -
Minimum of 5 years' experience working in a production support role.
Good electrical and electronic fault finding; diagnostic and repair experience.
The ability to communicate at all levels with key stakeholders, building relationships with external technical divisions for future support.
Qualification in electrical and electronic engineering or a related engineering subject (e.g. Mechatronics), to a minimum of level 3 (City & Guilds; BTEC ONC or equivalent)
Basic knowledge of electrical control systems; instrumentation; PLC controllers; variable frequency speed drives (VSDs/VFDs); inverters and servo drives; 3 Phase electrical systems and motors experience of vibration feed controllers beneficial)
