In this role, you'll provide personalised support to children with ASD, implement tailored strategies to promote their development, and collaborate with colleagues to create an inclusive learning environment. Prior experience working with children with ASD is essential, along with strong communication skills and a compassionate approach. Responsibilities:
- Utilise and develop 1:1 resources to support individual learning.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and TAs to organise appropriate activities.
- Liaise with professionals such as teachers, TAs, and specialist support staff.
- Work closely with other LSAs and support staff.
- Support children on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
- Prepare and develop engaging class displays.
- Maintain up-to-date records of pupil progress and contribute to their EHCP plan.
- Foster a calm and nurturing environment where learning can flourish.
Essential Requirements:
- Experience working 1:1 or in small groups with children who have Special Educational Needs (SEN).
- Proven experience working with young people, particularly those with ASD.
- Confidence and skill in managing challenging behaviours.
- Ability to engage and build rapport with young learners.
- Creative, proactive, and flexible in your approach to support.
- TA qualification (Level 2/3).
